They work collaboratively with their clients to ensure efficient project delivery and minimum disruptions to operations. They have a flexible and innovative can-do approach which allows them to continually exceed client expectations and this has led to an enviable portfolio of repeat business. The Role: The Estimator will be responsible for preparing analytical cost estimates and tenders from initial enquiry through to tender submission whilst ensuring the priced tenders are accurate, competitive and submitted by required deadlines. Travel may occasionally be required as part of this role. Key Responsibilities: Examine tender documents Research materials, equipment and labour costs Collate quotations from material suppliers and sub-contractors Liaise with Commercial Director to agree project overhead costs, advise on tendering opportunities and all tender results/placings Prepare analytical estimate for designated projects Consider potential value engineering options Plan project timescales and assess the level of risk on a project Liaise and assist with the appointment of subcontractors and labour only subcontractors on designated subcontract conditions Record tender performances and keep these up to date Liaise and assist with managing cost feedback information for future tendering Attend relevant meetings / site visits Prepare tender settlement documents for project deadlines / finalisation for pre-settlement with the Operations Director Manage and oversee the archiving of all documents Ensure records and paperwork are accurate and up to date Adopt a Continuous Improvement approach to processes and practices The Ideal Person: Degree qualified or other relevant qualifications Relevant experience within the fit out / refurbishment sectors Experience of writing PQQ, Bid and Tender submissions Experience of working in a fast-paced environment Excellent IT skills especially Microsoft Office, Excel and Estimating package Strong Commercial Awareness Experience in managing and dealing with contractual issues on standard forms of contract i.e. JCT form of Contract Strong knowledge of contract documents, construction practices and techniques High attention to detail Ability to work effectively both alone and in a team environment For further information on this vacancy, or any other Built Environment job in Belfast or wider Northern Ireland, please apply via the link below or contact Robert Apps for a confidential discussion Skills: Estimator Construction Estimating Main Contractor Fitout Benefits: DOE + excellent benefits package
