Estimator - Groundworks & RC Frame
Manchester - £65,000 - £85,000 per annum + comprehensive package
About the Company
A well-established and growing civil engineering contractor based in Manchester, delivering high-quality groundworks, reinforced concrete (RC) frame, and infrastructure packages across the North West and beyond.
The business operates across commercial, residential, and infrastructure sectors, with a strong reputation for safety, reliability, and technical expertise. With a healthy pipeline of secured work and continued growth, they are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced Estimator.
The Role
As Estimator - Groundworks & RC Frame, you will be responsible for:
Preparing accurate and competitive tenders for groundwork and RC frame packages
Reviewing drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
Undertaking take-offs and producing detailed cost plans
Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
Identifying value engineering opportunities and risk factors
Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal teams throughout the tender process
Supporting pre-construction and handover to delivery teams
Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings where required
The Ideal Candidate
The successful Estimator - Groundworks & RC Frame will have:
Proven experience estimating groundworks and reinforced concrete frame projects
A strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and buildability
Experience working on residential, commercial, or infrastructure schemes
Excellent commercial awareness and cost analysis skills
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office packages
A proactive, detail-oriented approach with the ability to work to tight deadlines
