Job Description

Requirement: Estimator\n\nLocation: Nottingham\n\nPackage: £35,000 - £70,000 (DOE) + Bens \n\nOverview\n\nYou will be working on both projects that support the drive to net zero and projects required to maintain & upgrade the existing network infrastructure\n\nThis will involve high voltage overhead powerline (OHL) schemes.\n\nYou'll collaborate with Bid Managers, Project Development Managers, Pre Contract Construction Managers, design teams, and the commercial team. \n\nDay to day tasks will include:\n\nScope and risk identification\n\nAssist bids manager with kick-off meetings and bids programme\n\nCollaborate with procurement and commercial departments\n\nUnderstand and challenge project solutions\n\nAnalyse supply chain quotations and benchmark costs\n\nPrepare tender prices in Excel and review with senior management (there may be a client driven requirement to use Candy software in the future)\n\nPrepare client pricing documents and assist with post-submission presentations\n\nMaintain professional working relationships \n\nWhat you'll bring\n\nPrevious experience in infrastructure projects (essential)\n\nPrevious experience in 400kV overhead line estimating (preferrable)\n\nBasic understanding of engineering/construction technology and terminology\n\nAbility to read and understand engineering specifications and drawings\n\nBasic understanding of contractual terminology\n\nAbility to work under pressure and to strict deadlines\n\nAn attention to detail, pro-active, organised and methodical approach to work\n\nFlexibility in terms of working hours
