We are looking for a Estimator with experience in minor works civils to be based near High Wycombe.


Role: Estimator - Civil Engineering

Location: High Wycombe (1-2 days in office and hybrid remote)

Salary: Up to £75,000 Per Annum + Benefits

Experience: 4–5 years in minor civils, 278 works, drainage, public realm.


Job Summary:


We are looking for a Civils Estimator (Pre-Contract) to support our clients pre-construction department.. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in cost estimation, quantity take-off, tender documentation, and rate analysis for minor civils - drainage, 278 works, hard landscaping, public realm.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and quantity take-offs from drawings and project specifications.
  • Review tender documents and drawings to identify project scope and requirements.
  • Obtain, verify, and analyze quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Prepare pre-tender and post-tender comparison and evaluation reports.
  • Coordinate with design, procurement, and operations teams during the tendering phase.
  • Assist in preparing technical and commercial bid submissions.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company standards.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4–5 years of minor civils estimation (drainage, 278 works, public realm, civils).
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation software (Bluebeam / conquest / causeway).
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet challenging tender deadlines.
