Estimator – Restoration

London | £50k - £75k + Package (depending on experience)


Overview:

My client has gained a reputation for setting exceptional standards within the industry. With a strong client base, they undertake work on Grade I and II listed buildings and those which hold both architectural and historical significance. Their expertise and standing in this specialist sector has been recognised seeking to employ a Estimator to oversee various projects in and around London.

  • Imperial War Museum (Grade II listed)
  • Fine Art School (Grade I listed)
  • High End Hotel (Grade II listed)

Skills & Experience Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player with:

  • Relevant working experience in estimation and business development (ideally 5+ years)
  • Knowledge of construction including restoration and refurbishment
  • High level of motivation and initiative.
  • Commercial awareness with a proven track record of delivering profitable results.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A history of building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Exceptional attention to details.


Key Responsibilities:

  • To elicit tenders and enquiries
  • To compile and prepare sub-contract enquiries and conduct sub-contractor cost comparisons
  • To estimate works and undertake on-site assessment of projects
  • Give pre and post contract advise to the contracts team
  • To assist the production team in preparing valuations and final accounts
  • To undertake legal reviews of contract documentation
  • To prepare and defend companies interests for contract dispute resolution
  • To undertake post tender submission negotiations
  • To prepare tender supporting information
  • To lead bid presentations
  • To build on an existing robust client base
  • To report fortnightly to the Production Director on quality, value and success rate of enquiries received.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective.
  • Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure budget adherence.
  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects, including invoices and payment schedules.
  • To price variations and prepare valuations and final accounts
  • Contract support i.e. EoT claims
