Job Title: Senior Estimator – Cut & Carve

Location: Central London (Office-based)

We are working with an established contractor specialising in cut & carve, structural alterations, and complex refurbishment schemes across London. With a strong pipeline of high-profile projects, they are now looking to expand their Preconstruction Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing business and contribute to technically challenging and rewarding schemes.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the preconstruction team, taking responsibility for producing accurate and detailed estimates across a variety of structural and refurbishment-focused packages. You will collaborate closely with design teams, project managers, and clients to ensure competitive and commercially sound tender submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for cut & carve and builders’ work packages
• Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to assess scope and risks
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and technical input
• Support tendering activities including take-offs, cost planning, and budget setting
• Collaborate with design teams, project managers, and clients to ensure clarity and alignment
• Contribute to preconstruction strategy and provide commercial input on project feasibility

Candidate Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Estimator within a specialist or trade subcontractor environment
• Proven background in structural alterations, cut & carve, temporary works, underpinning, or complex refurbishment projects
• Strong understanding of preconstruction processes and estimating methodologies
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to produce accurate, detailed estimates under tight deadlines
• Competent user of Excel and standard estimating software tools
