Senior Estimator – Construction Frameworks

Salary: £70,000 – £85,000+ (Dependent on Experience)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to strengthen our pre-construction team, supporting a growing portfolio of public and private sector framework agreements across the South West (Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset).

This role offers the opportunity to work on strategically important schemes across sectors including education, healthcare, commercial and public realm, contributing to repeat business and negotiated workstreams within established frameworks.

This position would suit someone looking to take ownership of key bids while contributing to a collaborative, forward-thinking team environment.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Estimator, you will play a pivotal role in securing work through regional and national frameworks. Your duties will include:

* Leading the pricing strategy for negotiated and two-stage framework opportunities

* Managing the preparation of detailed cost plans and competitive tenders from concept through to final submission

* Working closely with pre-construction managers, design teams, planners and supply chain partners to develop robust, value-driven proposals

* Identifying commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions early in the bid process

* Reviewing market intelligence and subcontractor pricing trends to ensure competitiveness

* Producing accurate prime cost estimates in line with company governance and reporting standards

* Supporting client engagement during early contractor involvement (ECI) phases

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

We are seeking a commercially astute construction professional with:

* Demonstrable experience pricing construction projects valued at £10m+

* Background in delivering projects via public sector or regional frameworks

* Strong knowledge of two-stage tendering and negotiated procurement routes

* HNC/HND or degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar

* Advanced Excel and analytical capability, with the ability to produce detailed cost reports

* Strong measurement and quantity take-off skills

* Sound technical understanding of contemporary construction methods and materials

* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and supply chain partners
