Our client, a leading and well-respected school, is seeking a reliable and organised Exams Assistant to support the smooth running of internal and external examinations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who is looking to work in a supportive education environment and play a key role in ensuring examinations are delivered efficiently and in line with national regulations.
The Role
The successful candidate will work closely with the Exams Officer to support the administration and coordination of all examination processes. You will help ensure compliance with exam board regulations while maintaining clear communication with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the organisation and administration of internal and external examinations
Communicate effectively with exam boards, staff, students, and parents, responding to queries within deadlines
Support the preparation and distribution of exam timetables and resolve scheduling clashes
Help ensure compliance with national exam regulations and procedures
Assist with mock exam planning and administration
Provide general administrative support to the Exams Officer
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times
Support statutory requirements including equality, accessibility, and safeguarding
Person Specification
Qualifications
A Levels (or equivalent)
Minimum GCSE (or equivalent) in English
Experience
Previous administrative experience
Experience using spreadsheets xehkeey and managing data
Knowledge of Bromcom (desirable) or willingness to learn
Experience within education, charity, or not-for-profit sector (desirable)
Skills & Attributes
Strong IT skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
Good typing speed (approx. 30 wpm)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
Able to work independently and as part of a team
