About the Role

We are working on behalf of a highly reputable specialist education organisation seeking an ambitious Executive Headteacher to lead the development and opening of a new network of specialist schools across Bedfordshire.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of specialist education from the ground up.

You’ll be responsible for the strategic leadership of newly established provisions catering for pupils with complex needs, including primary-secondary specialist settings (SEMH and SEND and a PMLD setting

You will guide these schools through the opening and early operational phases, ensuring they provide high-quality, inclusive, and nurturing environments for all learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on the opening and development of new specialist schools
• Provide strategic leadership across multiple sites
• Recruit, develop, and support strong leadership teams
• Ensure excellent standards in safeguarding, teaching, and care
• Work closely with stakeholders, local authorities, and families

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a strong track record of senior leadership in specialist or inclusive education
• Is passionate about improving outcomes for children with complex needs
• Can inspire, lead, and motivate diverse teams
• Has experience working with SEND/SEMH/PMLD provisions
• (Desirable) Has experience opening new schools or leading across multiple sites
