Executive Partner, Chief Sales Officer Advisory - High Tech / Telco

What you’ll do:

  • Provide executive advisory services to CSO members who work across all industries and business models.
  • Synthesize Gartner insights and data to deliver world‑class advisory support through ongoing, regular (monthly or bi‑weekly at times) client engagement. Adapt and tailor materials independently to fit each client.
  • Host, facilitate, and/or participate in periodic client activities, including working sessions to develop strategy, peer roundtables, breakout sessions, client meetings at annual conferences (e.g., Sales Forum) and virtual webinars.
  • Define and deliver innovative solutions by assessing client needs and developing customized value plans in accordance with Executive Program strategy and product deliverables.
  • Facilitate member interaction and peer collaboration through the relevant member community portal and assisted member connections.
  • Probe clients with the right questions to understand their priorities, then connect them with relevant Gartner resources.
  • Partner with Business and Technology Insights analysts to identify gaps in client‑relevant material.
  • Participate in all phases of the client lifecycle: pre‑sale, onboarding, relationship management, delivery, review, and renewal.
  • Focus on sales enablement: retain clients and contribute to account growth through direct support of Gartner Sales Associates, creating value stories to justify the guided service.
  • Assist members in defining, prioritizing, and critiquing sales strategies (including go‑to‑market) and tactics; support execution of functional elements like channel design and compensation architecture.
  • Manage a portfolio of senior‑executive relationships and collaborate with Senior Client Managers and Senior Account Executives on broader account planning.

What you’ll need:

  • High‑tech / Telco industry background for the first hire.
  • In‑depth understanding of the sales function and the roles of CSO/CRO/CGO/CCO (leadership, enablement, operations management, compensation, strategy, trends, metrics).
  • 10+ years experience as an SVP, EVP, CRO, CGO, CCO or CSO, leading a sales organization with at least $1 billion addressable revenue and a team of 500+ people.
  • Broad senior‑leadership expertise and demonstrated ability to drive change at all levels.
  • Responsible for client retention per Gartner Retention Metrics and for working closely with sales to vet and close new business.
  • University graduate (master’s preferred).
