About the Role
My client is seeking an experienced Executive Cost Consultant (Quantity Surveyor) to support the continued growth of their Leeds office. This role offers the chance to work across a broad range of sectors—while there are no strict boundaries, particular emphasis is placed on the residential market, with active involvement in Build to Rent (BtR) and Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) projects.
This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team delivering high-profile schemes across Yorkshire and beyond. Current and recent projects span residential, commercial, leisure, large-scale masterplanning, retail, light industrial, and media sectors.
Key Responsibilities
As an Executive/Associate Quantity Surveyor, the successful candidate will:
* Lead cost planning and commercial management activities throughout all project stages
* Develop and manage budgets, monitor variances, and ensure cost control across complex schemes
* Prepare cost estimates, cash flow forecasts, and valuation reports
* Lead procurement processes including tender documentation, analysis, and negotiation
* Administer post-contract change control, interim valuations, and final accounts
* Assess and manage risk, offering proactive solutions to project teams and clients
* Build and maintain strong client relationships and act as a key point of contact
* Mentor junior team members and support their development
* Contribute to internal initiatives such as digital innovation, sector forums, and business development

About the Requirements
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field
* MRICS qualification (or actively working towards chartership)
* Strong pre- and post-contract experience, ideally gained in a consultancy environment
* Proven expertise in residential projects, particularly BtR and PBSA
* Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach
* A strategic mindset with problem-solving ability and commercial acumen
* Proficiency in digital tools such as Microsoft Office and CostX ()
* A collaborative attitude and interest in contributing to a high-performing team
