About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a committed experienced career paralegal to join a growing financial services organisation, based in central London. This role offers broad exposure across Legal, Compliance and HR, with a particular focus on corporate governance, data protection, commercial contracts, and company secretarial work. This position is best-suited to an experienced paralegal seeking a long-term career in financial services, rather than someone pursuing a training contract or qualification.


Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support across a range of legal and compliance functions, including but not limited to:

  • Maintaining company registers, drafting resolutions, minutes, and other governance documents across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, including handling data privacy inquiries, DSARs, and policy implementation.
  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts, NDAs, and agreements with service providers.
  • Preparing agreements for new and existing clients, supporting commercial teams in negotiations, and liaising with external counsel where required.
  • Ensuring company template documents are up to date and legally compliant.
  • Conducting legal research and monitoring regulatory developments, providing regular updates to the business.
  • Supporting HR with employment contracts, performance reviews, onboarding, and related documentation.
  • Assisting with KYC/AML requests, RFIs, audits, and other compliance-related tasks.
  • Managing legal work in progress records, key dates, and ad hoc business queries.


Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience as a paralegal in financial services or a regulated sector.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate governance, data protection, and commercial contracts.
  • Familiarity with FCA rules, AML/anti-bribery obligations, and company law.
  • Confident using legal research tools (e.g. LexisNexis, Practical Law).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong IT skills.

Requirements

  • Degree educated (law degree preferred but not essential).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Previous financial services/legal support experience is strongly preferred.


Working Arrangements

The organisation operates a hybrid model, with up to four days per week working from home, though employees should be prepared for more office-based working if required.
