Job Description

Join Ligentia!

As we expand our Export and Partner business, we are seeking a Commercial Export Operator to support quotation management and export bookings. This is a "mouldable" junior-level role where you will bridge the gap between commercial pricing and operational execution. Working closely with the Commercial Director and our in-house Export team, you will ensure efficient coordination, accurate pricing, and seamless execution for our key clients.

Your Role:

  • Act as a primary contact for export pricing, with a focus on delivering rapid quotes to capture nominations from overseas partners in Asia and the Middle East.
  • Work with the Commercial Director to maintain up-to-date tariffs and support the development of effective pricing strategies.
  • Oversee the end-to-end booking process and support the Manchester team in the daily execution of shipments.
  • Work with carriers and third-party suppliers to ensure healthy margins and high service quality.
  • Support the onboarding of key clients and the implementation of specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

What You'll Need:

Essential

  • Approximately 1–2 years of experience in a freight forwarding or export environment. We are also open to graduates with a degree in Supply Chain or Logistics who have a keen interest in entering the industry.
  • Specific knowledge or exposure to Air Export processes.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms, customs declarations, and export documentation.
  • A "mouldable" mindset with the ability to manage multiple moving parts in a fast-paced environment.
  • Schedule Flexibility - an 8:00am start would be ideal to ensure overlap with Asian markets, allowing for an earlier finish in the afternoon. However, we can be flexible on this for the right person.

Desirable

  • Proficiency in freight management software, specifically CargoWise.

Note: While we currently offer a hybrid working pattern, full-time office presence in Manchester will be required during your initial onboarding and training period.
