The Role
We are seeking an External Audit Senior Manager to join our Corporate Audit team in Glasgow. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex audits across a variety of industries—including breweries and mid-market corporates—while mentoring and managing high-performing teams.
Note: This role is not open to candidates seeking promotion from Manager level.
Key Responsibilities

Lead large audit engagements, supported by one or more Managers.
*
Maintain overall responsibility for each assignment, reporting directly to the Partner.
*
Manage team resources, training, performance evaluations, and promotion recommendations.
*
Coach and mentor team members, acting as a role model for Managers.
*
Drive profitability across your audit portfolio.
*
Liaise with central departments (risk, technical, etc.) as needed.
*
Play a key role in business development—winning new clients and contributing to firm growth.
*
Support strategic implementation initiatives alongside Partners.
Required Experience & Qualifications
*
Minimum 2.5–3 years’ experience at Senior Manager level in audit.
*
At least 2 years of UK-based audit practice experience (mandatory for visa sponsorship).
*
Experience from a Top 10 or equivalent firm (Big 4 experience not ).
*
Strong project management and business development skills.
*
Proven ability to deliver audits to listed (AIM/full) and international businesses.
*
Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and UK/International GAAS.
*
ACA/ICAS (or equivalent) qualified.
*
Educated to degree level or equivalent (e.g., CTS).
Work Environment
*
Location: Based in Glasgow, working 4 days/week on-site (office or client site).
*
Remote work: 1 day/week from home (pre-booked).
*
Relocation: Open to UK-based candidates with valid relocation reasons (e.g., family or previous ties to Glasgow).
*
Sponsorship: Available for those with 2+ years of UK practice experience.
*
Visa claw-back : Covered up to £3,000.
*
No relocation package offered
