We are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive early years team in Crook. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a nurturing environment, supporting children in both our 2-year-old provision and pre-school as they begin their learning journey.
About the Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning. You will work closely with the class teacher to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where all children can thrive. The role will involve supporting children’s learning through play, helping to deliver planned activities, and contributing to the day-to-day running of the setting.
Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum through play-based learning
Assist in planning and setting up engaging activities
Observe and contribute to assessments of children’s progress
Support children’s communication, social, and emotional development
Help maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment
Work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with parents and carers
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (e.g. CACHE Level 3 Diploma or equivalent)
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above
Experience working with children in an EYFS setting (2-year-olds and/or pre-school desirable)
Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Desirable
Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to train)
Experience supporting children with additional needs (SEND)
Strong knowledge of early language development strategies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
