EYFS Teaching Assistant\n Location: Northfield, B31\n Weekly Pay: £460 - £500\n Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term Time Only)\n Start Date: ASAP\n Contract: Full-time, long-term (Full Academic Year)\n \n A rewarding Early Years role supporting Reception children who need calm, consistent, and nurturing support to thrive.\n Long Term Futures is seeking a compassionate and experienced Reception SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm, inclusive Early Years setting in Northfield. The role involves supporting several pupils with emerging social communication needs, as well as providing more focused support for a child with an EHCP related to emotional regulation and past trauma.\n The school is particularly eager to meet candidates with a strong EYFS background, Early Years qualifications, or previous experience supporting young children with additional needs.\n \n About the Role\n You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider EYFS team to help pupils feel emotionally secure, confident and ready to learn. Your responsibilities will include:\n\nProviding 1:1 support for a reception child who has experienced trauma and requires calm, consistent emotional reassurance.\nSupporting small groups and individual pupils showing early signs of autism, focusing on communication, social interaction and engagement.\nUsing play-based strategies, visual aids and structured routines to help children access learning.\nSupporting behaviour through a nurturing, predictable approach grounded in Early Years practice.\nAssisting with phonics, early literacy, early number work and child-led activities.\nHelping maintain a safe, supportive, and stimulating classroom environment.Ideal Candidate Profile\n\nExperience working in EYFS (Nursery or Reception) is highly desirable.\nBackground supporting children with emotional needs, trauma-informed approaches, or early autism indicators.\nWarm, patient and calm, with excellent skills in building trust and positive relationships.\nPassionate about early childhood development and inclusive practice.\nReliable, proactive, and able to work collaboratively within a strong Early Years team.Why Work with Long Term Futures?\n\nLong-term roles offering training, stability, and growth.\nWeekly pay via our simple digital system.\nFree CPD, including early autism strategies, trauma-informed practice, and EYFS pedagogy.\nDedicated consultant providing ongoing support and development.Next Steps\n If you're passionate about Early Years and eager to support children with emotional and communication needs, apply today with your CV.
