This permanent role is crucial for supporting the Fabrication Manager in overseeing marine and general fabrication operations across both commercial and cruise sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and monitor the work of employees and subcontractors, ensuring all tasks meet required quality and safety standards. Assist in planning, quoting, and delivering fabrication and marine engineering projects-managing time, cost, materials, and labour efficiently. Oversee and enforce the use of PPE and safe systems of work, including RAMS, Take 5 documentation, and permit-to-work processes. Maintain high standards of housekeeping in workshops, stores, vehicles, and on-site locations. Support management with performance monitoring, training, employee development, and addressing conduct or grievance matters. Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained as per manufacturer guidelines, reporting faults or losses. Manage the issue and accountability of tools and equipment to minimise company losses. Coordinate procurement of materials as required. Respond to urgent work as needed, including on-call and emergency response duties. Complete written reports and update management on job progress and workforce concerns. Promote a positive workplace culture by addressing issues early and supporting staff morale. Adhere to and promote compliance with all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
