My client is an established principal contractor with over 20 years’ experience, specialising in cladding remediation and façade regeneration. They deliver high-quality, compliant, multi-million-pound façade replacement and refurbishment projects across London and the wider South East.

Overall Purpose of the Role

The Façade Designer will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings in line with relevant specifications where in-house design applies.

This role is site-focused, requiring attendance on site and in the site office approximately 3–4 days per week to carry out surveys, capture photographic records and gather detailed information to support drawing production.

You will work closely with Estimating, Commercial and Site Management teams throughout the project lifecycle to manage design coordination, resolve technical queries and maintain quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Produce, review and amend façade drawings in accordance with project specifications.

Carry out site surveys and inspections to gather measurements and technical details required for design development.

*

Maintain and manage drawing revisions throughout the construction phase.

*

Liaise with manufacturers, architects and external structural engineers to ensure buildability and compliance.

*

Distribute relevant technical documentation to project teams and stakeholders.

*

Respond to technical queries, proposing practical and compliant solutions.

*

Escalate complex technical or quality concerns to the Design & Quality Manager where required.

*

Support site teams by ensuring accurate design information is available from project commencement through to completion.

*

Conduct site visits (planned and ad hoc) to monitor installation quality and ensure works align with specifications and manufacturer guidance.

*

Assist the Design & Quality Manager in advising and supporting site management and subcontractors.

*

Monitor and measure KPIs relating to technical delivery and subcontractor performance.

*

Attend regular coordination and progress meetings with site teams.

*

Ensure subcontractor information is updated and shared with procurement teams as required.

*

Collate compliance documentation for submission to clients and funders.

*

Make recommendations for design or process improvements to the Design & Quality Manager.

Skills & Qualifications

Role-Specific:

*

Qualification in Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).

*

Valid CSCS card (basic level).

*

Proven façade experience is essential, including cladding, rainscreen systems and EWI.

Technical & IT:

*

Advanced AutoCAD user (3D AutoCAD, SketchUp or Revit advantageous).

*

Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

*

Experience using Project Probe or similar project management systems beneficial
