Facilities Maintenance Engineer - Wrexham (Permanent)
Starting Salary: from £35,000 Hours: Mon-Thu 08:00-17:15, Fri 08:00-16:15 (Approx. 21-23 non‑working Fridays per year)
I'm currently recruiting for a Facilities Maintenance Engineer to join a well‑established manufacturing organisation based in Wrexham. This team plays a crucial part in delivering maintenance projects across the site, supporting production, moulding, and automation functions. The Role
As a Facilities Maintenance Engineer, you'll work closely with teams across the factory, providing both electrical and mechanical support. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Electrical installation work Mechanical maintenance and installation in line with the company's Safe System of Work and isolation procedures General facilities maintenance, including sourcing and managing contractors for multiple projects Working to a planned maintenance schedule while remaining flexible to support Production and Moulding Operations Making basic PLC adjustments where required Supporting energy-saving initiatives and improvements Attending and resolving production breakdowns, including maintenance on automation equipment
What You'll Need
To be successful in this role, you should bring:
A strong motivation for developing your skills and technical knowledge Creative problem-solving abilities, particularly across electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and confidence managing repairs and improvement projects The ability to collaborate effectively across departments, with clear communication and a proactive, team‑focused attitude A commitment to working safely and taking ownership of tasks
About You
Ideally, you will have:
A completed HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 18th Edition qualification Experience or knowledge of small building projects (e.g., plumbing, heating, boiler systems)
