About the role

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the strategic alignment, compliance, and reporting of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards across our global operations, whilst also championing our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives. You will oversee the implementation of a UK CAA-approved Safety Management System (SMS) and lead the development of an Environmental Management System (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001 standards.

The role also includes managing facilities-related contracts and services, ensuring full compliance with safety, environmental, and ethical regulations. Through your leadership, you will help embed a culture of responsibility, resilience, and sustainability throughout our operations, contributing directly to Mirus’ mission to innovate responsibly and sustainably.


YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBLITLIES:


In your role as our HESG Facilities Manager, you main duties will include:


Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Lead and oversee compliance, reporting, and strategic alignment of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards
  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in accordance with legal guidelines, including risk assessments, COSHH, and RIDDOR
  • Implement and maintain a UK CAA-approved Safety Management System
  • Develop, implement and maintain an Environmental Management System (EMS) aligned with ISO 14001
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through training, audits, and incident investigations
  • Ensure compliance with local and regulatory safety requirements
  • Oversight of site risk registers, near-miss reporting, and corrective action
  • Investigate accidents/incidents to identify root causes and implement preventative measures


ESG Integration/Management

  • Drive ESG initiatives including carbon reduction, social responsibility programmes, and ethical governance.
  • Develop and oversight of HSE governance frameworks
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and AS9100 (aerospace standards)
  • Leading internal audits and managing external audits
  • Oversight of site risk registers, near-miss reporting and corrective actions
  • Contribution to corporate ESG, sustainability and carbon reduction strategies
  • Cross functional engagement with Operations, Engineering and Quality.


Facilities Management

  • Manage facilities-related contracts, infrastructure maintenance, and production equipment
  • Oversee site services and maintenance including energy efficiency, waste management, plumbing, cleaning, repairs and office management
  • Construct and communicate annual plans for facilities maintenance, including TPM programmes
  • Maintain site security systems and ensure 24/7 facility security
  • Supporting facilities projects and refurbishments
  • Managing contractors and subcontracted works, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and ensure delivery of services meets the agreed standards (SLAs)
  • Compile and manage the annual budget and resource management
  • Continuously improve business systems to meet evolving needs of employees, visitors and contractors
  • Proactively seek cost-reducing solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce running costs
  • Respond to emergencies or urgent issues related to site services and infrastructure


About you

To help Mirus continue our journey of growth, you will bring your expertise within regulated industries, methodical practices and drive for operational excellence along with the following skills, experience, qualifications and attributes:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001, ISO 18001 and/or UK CAA, EASA or AS9100 safety management system requirements and standards
  • Knowledge of LEAN / 5S principles
  • Experience in implementing or supporting SMS and/or EMS in a regulated industry
  • Contractor and budget management
  • Ability to write and deliver training modules
  • Process mapping and creation of standard work / operating procedures, processes and policies
  • Able to coach, mentor and communicate compliance requirements to all levels.


Desirable:

  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Facilities Management, or a related field
  • Experience managing facilities contracts and service providers
  • Understanding of ESG principles and sustainability frameworks/reporting (e.g., EcoVadis)
  • Data analytics and dashboarding (e.g., Power BI)

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Methodical and organized, with an ability to meet demanding deadlines.
  • Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills


Be eligible to work in the UK, comfortable commuting or being based in Hingham, Norfolk and work flexible hours required.


This position may require travel and the individual must hold a current passport and be willing to undertake short and long haul travel on an as required basis.
