Family Law Solicitor, Barnsley The role will involve managing a busy and varied private family caseload so we are looking for someone organised and efficient with a strong sense of commercial acumen. KEY TASKS Running and assisting with a case load of client matters. Dealing with new client enquiries. Dealing with matters at all stages, from taking the client’s initial instructions through to archiving, in accordance with office and accounts procedures. Taking instructions from clients and advising accordingly. Instructing counsel or other experts where appropriate. Representing clients at Court (including advocacy) as appropriate. Obtaining and preparing file documentation. Cost drafting as appropriate. Billing files and obtaining monies due to the firm from the clients and other parties. KEY SKILLS – ESSENTIAL Professional and friendly client care. Ability to work accurately in accordance with procedures and processes. Ability to deal with technical details and to express solutions to complex legal problems in a concise and client‑friendly way. Good spoken and written communication to deal with clients and other parties face to face, by telephone and in producing legal documents. Confident IT skills. Ability to work under pressure.
