Family Solicitor
Locations: Blackburn
A fantastic Legal 500 firm is seeking a Family Solicitor to join its Private Family Law team based in Blackburn.

Key responsibilities:

• Family Solicitor to manage a varied caseload of private family law matters, including divorce, financial settlements, private children’s issues and domestic abuse cases
• Representing clients at court hearings
• Providing clear and professional legal advice, both written and verbal
• Communicating with clients, opposing parties, courts and third parties to progress matters effectively
• Supervising and mentoring Paralegals, including delegation and training
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards 
• Collaborating with other departments on joint matters or projects
• Assisting in the development of business plans and supporting firm-wide initiatives
• Participating in business development activities such as events, writing articles and professional submissions

What we are looking for:

\n
• Family Solicitor 3 + PQE or Chartered Legal Executive with Family Practice Rights and Advocacy certification (or equivalent)
• Experience handling a variety of family law matters including court proceedings
• Knowledge of Legal Aid processes
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• Ability to manage own caseload, meet deadlines and work to billing targets
• Strong organisational and IT skills (including MS Outlook and Word)
• Commercially aware and aligned with the firm’s values
• Team-oriented, with a proactive approach to professional development

Desirable:

• Family Solicitor who has experience in conducting own advocacy
