Family Support Worker

Location: Brent, London Contract: initially 3 months (potential for extension) Hours: 36 hours per week Salary: £29.51 per hour (umbrella) / £22.41 per hour (PAYE)

About the Role: Brent Council is seeking a compassionate and motivated Family Support Worker to join our Children’s Frontline Services. Previously known as the R&A teams, these teams handle referrals from MASH, Police, schools, and other agencies where there is concern that a child or children may be at risk.

In this role, you will work closely with social workers to support families and help safeguard children. You will be responsible for carrying out home visits, assisting with assessments, and contributing to referral work, ensuring children and families receive timely and effective support.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct home visits to families referred by MASH, Police, schools, and other agencies.

Support social workers in the assessment and referral process.

Work directly with families to provide guidance and support.

Contribute to safeguarding children by identifying needs and escalating concerns appropriately.

Maintain accurate records and reports in line with Brent Council procedures.
