Farm Irrigation Technician

Salary: £16.50 per hour (Temp-to-Perm, 42 hours per week, overtime available)Location: Corby
Job Type: Temp-to-Perm | Full-time

Barker Ross is recruiting for an Irrigation Engineer to join a well-known agricultural engineering business in Corby. This is a hands-on, practical role working with irrigation systems and farm machinery, ideal for candidates with mechanical or farm maintenance experience.


The Role

  • Servicing, inspection, and repair of irrigation equipment and farm machinery, including:

    • Hose reels

    • Irrigation booms

    • Water pumps

    • General farm machinery

  • Mainly workshop-based, with occasional travel to customer sites for breakdown support during peak seasons


Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair irrigation equipment and farm machinery

  • Carry out inspections and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical faults

  • Attend on-site breakdowns when required

  • Complete service documentation accurately


What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on experience with irrigation systems and/or farm machinery

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and practical problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable (Not Essential):

  • Basic hydraulic or electrical knowledge

  • Welding or fabrication experience

  • Forklift licence


Working Hours

  • Monday-Thursday: 08:00-17:00

  • Friday: 08:00-16:30

  • On-call rota required
