Field Breakdown Engineer - Garage Lift Equipment

Our client is one of the UKs leading garage equipment companies, providing repair, maintenance, installation, and sales solutions to fast-fit centres, dealerships, independent garages, and commercial fleet operators.

Our client is committed to delivering a high level of service and technical expertise. As a Garage Lift Equipment Breakdown Engineer, you will be responsible for attending customer sites to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of garage lifting equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum safety and compliance. You will play a key role in representing the business on-site, delivering a professional and customer-focused service.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will work independently in the field while also collaborating closely with the wider service and technical teams.

Location: Norwich and Surrounding Areas

Salary: Up to £36,000 (Experience Dependent) + Bonus Scheme and Overtime Available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend customer sites to diagnose and repair breakdowns on garage lifting equipment.
  • Carry out fault finding on electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Complete planned and reactive maintenance on a range of garage lifts.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Accurately complete service reports, documentation, and job records.
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding repairs, findings, and recommendations.
  • Identify additional repair or replacement requirements and feedback to the service team.
  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle to a high standard.
  • Provide technical support and advice when required.
  • Other duties as required by the business.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with garage lifting equipment is essential.
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
  • Full UK driving license
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to attend training as required by the role, including health & safety training.
