Status: Full-time, Contract INSIDE IR35 Duration: 31dec26 (renewable) Reports to: Construction Superintendent Morson Edge are working with a major player in the Energy Sector who have a CONTRACT requirement for a Field Engineer - Welding & NDT (Surveillance), to join their established Project Surveillance team in Somerset. All work is associated with a Nuclear New Build Project - Europe's largest infrastructure Project, currently under construction. Site based working arrangements, competitive all-inclusive daily rates, inside IR35. Overview As a Field Engineer you will be focused on the surveillance of welding and NDT activities. You will oversee critical quality assurance tasks on the Project, ensuring construction activities align with contractual and safety requirements. You will identify and mitigate potential quality issues, supporting on-time project delivery.
Typical Activities (not limited to): Checking works are construct3ed in accordance with the Contractors' Work Information Review Contractors' performance and monitor Quality Control Plans and Inspection Records Submit and document non-conformance reports as needed. Contribute surveillance information to support KPI's Evaluate contractor performance and adherence to standards. Contribute to health, safety, and environmental objectives across site operations. Ensure documentation and reporting align with regulatory and quality requirements.
Criteria Mechanical Engineering, Materials, Welding Qualifications or equivalent vocational training/experience Welding Inspector qualification (CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent as a minimum). Experience of weld inspection on large construction Projects Current or previous qualifications in multiple NDT methods (PCN) - advantageous Experience in construction involving fabrication and installation of pressure systems and structural steel. Fully conversant with British/European standards and design codes including RCC-M, ASME and BS EN. Proven QA/QC experience and ability to document findings concisely and accurately. xehkeey Strong organisational, delegation, and communication skills.
