Job Description
A great opportunity has come for a Field Service Engineer to work with a small but growing packaging business in the UK. The company has been running since 2001, and they are now seeking a Field Service Engineer to cover the Luton and the surrounding areas for the machinery side of the business. They are looking for someone who is dynamic, driven and determined to have a successful career in packaging.\n\nField Service Engineer (Mechanical Bias) – Packaging Machinery\n\n£30,000 - £40,000 (DOE) + Company Vehicle + Benefits\n\nLocation: Luton\n\n23 days holiday + bank holidays\nHotel and food expenses all covered.\nFully expensed Van\n3% pension contribution\nPotential discretionary bonus\nOT – £2000 for the year.
\nAdditional Info\n\nTravel required daily within a 50-mile radius of Luton – typically one customer site visit per day.\nOccasional overnight stays but a rarity - all costs fully covered.\nBalanced travel workload across the service team.\nOngoing training and development available.\n.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nInstalling, servicing, maintaining and repairing packaging machinery at customer sites across Luton and surrounding areas, but further afield too on occasion.\nCarrying out mechanical work such as replacing bolts, nuts, chains, pulleys, gearboxes, sprockets, and working with pneumatics/hydraulics.\nReading of electrical and mechanical diagrams. Ideally with experience and understanding of wiring & re-wiring too.\nSupporting on other mechanical tasks which includes dealing with fasteners, bearings, sprockets, springs, rods, and more.\nDelivering outstanding service and building rapport with customers.\nKey Requirements\n\n1+ years’ experience in mechanical or electrical engineering (packaging experience but not essential).\nSolid knowledge of mechanical systems, including pneumatics or hydraulics.\nCompetent in basic electrical engineering – including 1-phase and 3-phase.\nExperience with PLC inputs and outputs.\nEngineering qualification Level 2 or higher (mechanical) – Experience also considered.\nA self-motivated team player who’s comfortable with travel within a 50-mile radius of Luton\nA positive attitude and ambition to grow with the company.\nNote - The business will consider packaging operators such as printers, die cutters, extrusion, gluers and more who want to broaden their skill set.\n\nIf you are interested in applying for this opportunity or wish to receive further information, please contact Sean Turton on (phone number removed) or email a copy of your current CV to “SER-IN
