Job Description
Field Service Engineer\n\nLocation: Within 30 miles of Oxford\n Salary: £50K per annum + Van Included\n Hours: Monday–Friday 7:30am–4:30pm\n Contract: Permanent after 3 months\n\nThis leading engineering company is entering an exciting phase of rapid growth, following the successful completion of several major projects across multiple industries. Building on its reputation for technical excellence and innovative solutions, the company continues to secure a wide range of new and challenging contracts. As part of this ongoing expansion, they are now looking to strengthen their team with the addition of a talented Field Service Engineer.\n\nThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that values expertise, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
You’ll be part of a supportive and skilled team, working on diverse projects that make a real impact.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nMechanical Responsibilities:\n\nDiagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults in pumps and associated systems.\nInstall, replace, and commission mechanical components such as pumps, bearings, seals, couplings, and valves.\nAssess pumping systems for efficiency improvements or necessary upgrades.\nPerform mechanical alignment, balancing, and fitting of pump systems.\nWork safely in high-pressure and reactive maintenance environments.\nAssist in refurbishment, retrofits, and system enhancements.\nElectrical Responsibilities:\n\nInspect, test, and maintain electrical components of pumps, including motors, starters, variable-speed drives, and control panels.\nCarry out electrical fault diagnosis, repair, and replacement on-site.\nWire and connect pumps to power supplies, ensuring compliance with electrical regulations.\nCollaborate with mechanical teams to deliver fully integrated pump solutions.\nGeneral Responsibilities:\n\nLiaise directly with clients to understand problems and provide on-site solutions.\nKeep accurate records of work completed, parts used, and system performance.\nMaintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working order.\nFollow all company procedures, health & safety standards, and relevant regulations.\nRequirements & Qualifications\n\nProven experience in the service of mechanical and electrical components in pumps.\nStrong fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.\nKnowledge of building services systems: heating, chilled water, air conditioning, and pressure boosting.\nExperience in reactive maintenance and emergency call-outs.\nRelevant mechanical/electrical qualifications or apprenticeship preferred.\nWhat We Offer\n\nCompetitive salary and benefits.\nOpportunities for ongoing training and professional development.\nWork for a well-established, highly respected company with over 35 years’ experience.\nTo be considered for this role please either hit the 'Apply' button on this site or email your CV directly to I can also be contacted directly on (phone number removed).
