OR Group Ltd is a fast-growing plant machinery services company based in Goring, Reading. We deliver statutory inspections, diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and machinery sales to clients across construction, manufacturing, recycling, logistics, and industrial sectors nationwide.

As we continue to expand, we’re seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer who is looking for long-term opportunity — someone motivated to develop their career alongside a business with clear direction and momentum.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on field role working on a wide range of plant and industrial machinery.
You’ll be diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, and performing servicing and preventative maintenance across customer sites nationwide. The role requires confidence, professionalism, and the ability to think on your feet.
· Approx. 70% customer site work (nationwide travel)
· Approx. 30% yard-based support work
· Occasional overnight stays
· Primarily independent working
You’ll act as the company’s on-site ambassador, so high standards of professionalism, communication, and customer care are expected.
Key Responsibilities
· Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on plant and industrial equipment
· Carry out servicing and preventative maintenance to a high standard
· Communicate clearly with customers, explaining findings and solutions
· Complete digital job reports and compliance documentation accurately
· Maintain high safety and quality standards at all times
· Represent the company professionally while working independently
What We’re Looking For
We want a capable, confident engineer who takes pride in their work.
Essential:
· Strong experience in plant machinery, access equipment, forklifts, HGV, or similar
· Confident fault-finding across hydraulics, mechanical and electrical systems
· Solid servicing and maintenance experience
· Ability to work independently and make decisions on-site
· NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant, Engineering, or similar
· Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
