Job Description

Role: Field Service Engineer \n\nLocation: Field Based\n\nSalary: Up to £45,000 Depending on experience\n\nMy client is looking for a skilled Field Service Engineer with proven experience working with Variable Speed Drives to join their busy engineering team. This is a field-based role covering, supporting customers across industrial and commercial environments.\n\nYou will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, fault-finding, maintenance, and repair of VSD systems and associated electrical/mechanical equipment.\n\nResponsibilities include:\n\nInstallation and commissioning of VSDs across various industrial applications\nFault-finding and diagnostics on drive systems and associated equipment\nCarry out planned preventative maintenance\nProvide on-site technical support and problem resolution\nParameter setting and optimisation of drive systems\nWork with motors, control panels, and PLC systems\nComplete service reports and documentation accurately\nEnsure compliance with health & safety standards\nParticipate in on-call rota \n\nSkills and Experience:\n\nProven experience working with Variable Speed Drives\nStrong electrical fault-finding skills\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics\nExperience commissioning and programming drive systems\nRelevant electrical qualification - NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, 18th Edition \nFull UK driving licence\nStrong communication and customer service skills\nAbility to work independently and manage workload effectively\nExperience with major drive manufacturers (e.g., ABB, Danfoss, Siemens, Schneider)\nKnowledge of PLC systems and automationWR Engineering are the #1 recruitment partner for engineering, manufacturing & technical sales jobs.
