Field Service Engineer – Heavy Equipment

Bristol (must live within 45 minutes)

£46,000 per annum + company van + excellent benefits

Field-based role

The Role:

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of heavy construction equipment, ensuring machines operate safely and efficiently. You’ll play a key role in minimising downtime and delivering exceptional aftersales support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on heavy equipment (40 tonne+)
• Carry out on-site repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance
• Work on hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and electrical components
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues efficiently
• Complete detailed service reports and documentation
• Liaise with internal teams and keep customers informed throughout
• Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety standards
• Maintain a clean, organised company van and high working standards

✅ About You:

• Proven experience in a field service role within heavy plant, construction, or similar equipment
• OEM or main dealer background preferred
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, diesel engines, and diagnostics
• Experience working on large mobile equipment (40 tonne+)
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Confident using IT systems for reporting and diagnostics
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Full UK driving licence
