About the RoleAs a Field Technical Engineer at Insite Energy, youll play a key role in supporting the installation, maintenance, and smooth operation of heat network equipment across our clients developments and within residents homes. This includes working with HIUs, valves, meters, PAYG devices, and metering systems that keep modern heat networks running efficiently.Youll be involved in installation and commissioning, fault diagnosis, and repair of in-property assets connected to centralised heat and cooling networks. The role combines technical expertise with customer interaction, working both on large multi-million-pound construction schemes and in occupied homes.Key ResponsibilitiesInstallation & CommissioningInstall and commission Insite prepayment and controlled credit systems.Use laptop/tablet devices to commission metering equipment and update records.Install IT gateways and RF equipment.Conduct site surveys and support the Installations Team with new system commissioning.Install, retrofit, and maintain multi-utility PAYG metering systems (including wiring, valves, mains spur, and commissioning).Maintenance & Fault ResolutionDiagnose and resolve on-site issues, liaising with other trades and main contractors.Replace, service, and maintain Heat Interface Units (HIUs) in occupied homes.Install, replace, and maintain MVHR units.Replace, service, and maintain fan coil units (FCUs) and cooling meters.Maintain in-property heating and cooling controls.Commission, service, and repair in-property heating and cooling systems.Plantroom Work(training provided)Deliver planned and reactive maintenance to plantrooms under contract.Carry out monthly inspections and condition reports.Replace pumps, valves, and other components as required.Customer SupportProvide reactive maintenance for equipment installed in homes or commissioned but not yet handed over.Liaise with clients, principal contractors, consultants, and subcontractors.Location & Working HoursFull-time, 37.5 hours per week.Monday to Friday, working 7.5 hours per day between 08:00 and 20:00.Required Skills & AttributesNVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in plumbing and heating essential18th Edition domestic wiring desirable (training available)CSCS card essentialSMSTS or H&S qualification desirableFirst Aid training desirableFull UK driving licence essentialStrong customer service mindsetAble to work independently while contributing to team goals and sharing best practiceWhy Work for Us?At Insite Energy, youll be part of a growing, forward-thinking business at the forefront of heat network technology.
