Finance Analyst - Business Planning

New Today

As a Finance Analyst within the Business Planning & Treasury team, you will play a critical role in developing, maintaining, and governing Heathrow's long‑term planning models. You will support the delivery of Heathrow's business plan, regulatory analysis, and structured scenario planning. Working closely with a Finance Manager, you will help shape financial assumptions, validate economic impacts, and influence strategic decisions through a regulatory, aeronautical, and financial lens. You will contribute to building and maintaining the "single source of truth" for all financial modelling used in long‑term business planning, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and governance. Strong collaboration across the organisation and a consistent approach to model integrity will be central to your success. Being a trusted strategic partner to the Business, ensuring Heathrow delivers maximum sustainable value through its long‑term planning. We have two roles available; one permanent and one secondment. Responsibilities
Operating, enhancing, and interrogating Heathrow's long‑term business planning models, including running sensitivities and scenario analysis to support strategic, economic, and regulatory decision‑making. Supporting annual and long‑term planning cycles, including regulatory submissions, aeronautical charge modelling, and finance‑led insight to stakeholders. Partnering with teams across Heathrow to source, validate, and reconcile inputs feeding into financial models. Ensuring alignment to regulatory frameworks and business planning assumptions. Maintaining full documentation and audit trails for all assumptions, ensuring financial models meet governance and compliance standards. Producing high‑quality modelling outputs, regulatory evidence, and data‑driven narratives to support internal reviews and external disclosures.
Qualifications
Experience operating, analysing, and improving Excel‑based financial models, ideally within a regulated, infrastructure, or capital‑intensive environment. Project management experience with strong attention to detail, ability to prioritise, and proactive stakeholder engagement. Strong analytical mindset capable of interpreting complex financial and regulatory information, ensuring compliance and model accuracy. Excellent communication skills with the ability to distil modelling outputs and regulatory insights for senior internal and external stakeholders.
Ideally you'll also have:
Advanced financial modelling experience, including model design, optimisation, and development of forecasting tools for regulatory and long‑term planning. Advanced Excel proficiency, including use of scenario management, audit tools, and structured modelling best practices. A finance qualification (or part‑qualified CIMA, ACCA, ACA), ideally with exposure to regulated economic frameworks or infrastructure finance.
