PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: e.g. £60,000 - £70,000 plus £5319 London Weighting, depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
As a Finance Business Partner at BBC Studios, you'll work closely with senior leaders to shape financial strategy through insightful analysis and commercial support. This role partners with the Chief Commercial Officer and EVP, EMEA Key Markets, leading forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning. You'll kick off with a high-impact P&L analysis project before transitioning into a key business partnering role, managing two analysts and influencing decisions across the EMEA Distribution business

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
P&L Analysis improvement project:
- Optimise financial processes and systems to provide enhanced analytical P&L visibility to business stakeholders to in turn support strategic decision making. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Embed new analytical channels analytical framework (profit and cost centres) across the EMEA Channels business
- Ensure that accurate and automated EMEA overheads analyses are available to key business stakeholders in both Channels and Content Sales teams including:
- Payroll monthly actual vs forecast and rolling forecasts
- T&E costs monthly tracking
- Other overheads costs tracking
- Overheads absorption via subregion
- Clarification of direct vs indirect cost classifications
- Full understanding of regional cost overheads including payroll and office costs.
- Improve World News actuals analysis in liaison with WN A&R team.
- Close redundant profit and cost centres
- Amend payroll and expenses coding structures as necessary.
- Review centralised overhead recharges and confirm updated cost centre allocation with associated teams.
EMEA FBP (paternity leave cover):
- Deliver Commercial Insight: Provide strategic financial support to senior EMEA leaders, driving performance and identifying new business opportunities.
- Lead Financial Planning: Support forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning across the region, including preparation for leadership reviews.
- Produce Strategic Analysis: Present KPIs, scenario modelling, and profitability insights to inform decision-making and align with business strategy.
- Enhance Financial Processes: Drive system improvements, policy development, and best practice implementation to boost efficiency and control.
- Manage & Collaborate: Lead two Business Analysts and work closely with sales, content, and leadership teams to ensure financial alignment.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
Proven experience partnering with commercial stakeholders in a large, matrix organisation.
Strong financial planning and reporting expertise, with management responsibility.
Skilled in interpreting complex financial data and communicating insights clearly.
Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship-building abilities.
Advanced Excel skills, strong analytical mindset, and a proactive, outcome-focused approach.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
Experience in the media or broadcast industry.
Background in international, multi-market business environments.
Familiarity with IFRS and ERP systems such as SAP S4 Hana.
Track record of delivering financial system and control improvements.
Project and line management experience.
