Finance Business Partner – Newcastle-upon-Tyne Department: Finance Employment Type: Permanent Location: Newcastle‑upon‑Tyne Reporting To: Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Manager Rock‑solid financial planning and reporting responsibilities paired with business‑oriented analysis and commercial support – the Finance Business Partner role is all about driving performance, identifying improvements, and influencing strategy across the group. Responsibilities
Build and maintain financial models, budgets and rolling forecasts to support accurate planning and reporting. Support the annual budgeting process, working closely with executives and department heads to align financial plans with business priorities. Partner with senior stakeholders to drive sustainable cost efficiencies while supporting smart investment decisions. Produce forecast and budget variance analysis, and develop meaningful KPIs across areas such as resource utilisation and profitability. Develop internal dashboards and reporting that genuinely inform and influence decision‑making. Improve the clarity, consistency and impact of financial reporting across the business. Maintain a risks and opportunities tracker to support forward‑looking decisions. Work closely with the wider Finance team to continuously improve processes and ways of working. Build strong working relationships with senior leaders and their teams. Produce insight and reporting for executive and senior leaders to support both short‑term decisions and longer‑term strategy. Link financial performance and KPIs to wider business objectives across Bede’s operations. Work cross‑functionally to define and evolve performance metrics and measures. Support business cases by assessing return on investment and tracking outcomes. Monitor and report on ROI across technology and customer projects. Support new business proposals through financial modelling and scenario analysis. Assist with financial due diligence for prospective new clients. Evaluate potential investment opportunities and provide analysis to support decision making. Provide financial input on pricing, client rate cards and cost proposals. Support procurement activity by providing financial due diligence on suppliers and helping achieve the best commercial outcomes.
Qualifications
Qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). Strong spreadsheet and financial modelling skills. Experience using SAP (desirable). Comfortable applying analytical thinking beyond traditional finance into broader commercial problem‑solving. Able to thrive in a fast‑moving environment and confident proposing and driving change. A creative, curious mindset with a continuous improvement approach. Strong stakeholder and communication skills, including:
