Finance Lead At CoMind, we are developing a non-invasive neuromonitoring technology that will result in a new era of clinical brain monitoring. In joining us, you will be helping to create cutting‑edge technologies that will improve how we diagnose and treat brain disorders, ultimately improving and saving the lives of patients across the world. The Role CoMind is building a high‑performing Finance function to underpin the next phase of our growth. We are seeking an ambitious finance professional who will take ownership of day‑to‑day financial operations, generate high‑quality reporting and analysis, and help design and implement new financial systems and processes as we move towards product launch. Reporting to the CFO, you will provide insight, rigour, and operational excellence. Currently supported by external accounting and tax partners, you will help bring this capability in‑house. This is an opportunity to have a genuine impact in a rapidly changing organisation, with plenty of scope to help shape the future of the Finance function. At CoMind, all team members work at least 4 days per week from our new Kings Cross offices, plus a flexible work‑from‑home day. Responsibilities
Become the “face of finance” for CoMind – the first point of contact for all internal and external finance stakeholders Own UK & US financial operations, keeping everything running smoothly and confidently Drive a fast, accurate month‑end close Turn numbers into insight — deliver sharp commentary and analysis for monthly/quarterly management and board packs Streamline purchasing, invoicing, and payment workflows to keep product development work moving Champion efficient expense processes — accurate capture, clear approval, timely reimbursement Support VAT, year‑end, and audit delivery with a proactive, organised approach Generate data and analysis for R&D tax credit and research grant claims Support consolidation, payroll, cash management and FX as we grow internationally Develop new systems and processes as we migrate to a scalable ERP system
Skills & Experience
3+ years working in a dynamic, startup environment A love for “getting things done” and a mindset where no job is too big or too small Professional accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA) You enjoy improving systems, automating to focus on value added, and building for scale You are ambitious and enjoy taking ownership and accountability for impactful projects Exposure to US and other international entities is advantageous Strong command of accounting ops — POs, billing, banking, balance sheet schedules, reconciliations Confident across month‑end/year‑end reporting, consolidations, FX, payroll, tax, audits Comfortable with tools like Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax (or equivalent) Experience designing and implementing new systems
