Where will you be working?
At M Group Highways, we’re supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK.

You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

What will you be doing?
You'll be managing the Finance Team of 5 and ensuring all daily, weekly and monthly finance tasks are complete.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of monthly financial information.
- Accurate Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Weekly update of expected Cash Position.
- Processing Journals in both Causeway and Oracle.
- Updating monthly a Suite of Reports.
- Depot Inventory processing and variance analysis, including monthly physical stock takes.
- Supporting the purchase to pay and three-way-match processes for the contract.
- Ensure compliance of Milestone’s internal and UK FRS Accounting policies and processes.
- Identify and drive improvements in processes and systems, identifying and mitigate risk.
- Support the interim and year-end audit process.
- Reconciliation of costs Comparing CPA to Oracle.
- Implementing Changes to Current Processes.
- Ad Hoc Reconciliations.
- Dealing with queries from suppliers, client, operations and other teams across M Group
- Option E and Commercial CVR / Cost Analysis
- Ensuring Payroll is accurately processed and submitted on time.
- Month end reporting.
- Closing and Rolling Periods in CPA
- Support the Senior Accountant
What you’ll bring
- You must be a fully qualified accountant
- A minimum of 6 years’ experience as an accountant working in the UK, preferable in a similar role , with Commercial experience.
- Experience managing a team is essential
- Initiative-taking, robust, and resourceful finance professional.
- Remain focused in a challenging environment.
- Ability to build relationships on a cross-functional basis within the sector and business.
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Self-Motivated and Confident
- Capacity to meet tight Deadlines.
- Confident IT Skills, proficient in the use of MS Office particularly Advance Excel.
- Knowledge of Oracle and Highways Costing Programs advantageous.
- Strong reconciliation skills
- Driving Licence - willing to travel to sites
