We are now looking for a Financial Accountant to join us on a full-time, permanent basis.
The Role
As a Financial Accountant, you will be tasked with supporting the comprehensive financial health of our organisation, primarily focusing on compliant financial statements, tax returns and financial systems.
Specifically, you will oversee the accurate recording of accounting entries, take charge of both VAT and corporation tax returns, and develop, maintain and implement effective financial systems that drive improvement and efficiency.
Alongside this, you will manage a team, providing leadership, motivation and development, support technology and applications as they relate to the financial area, and play a key role in supplier relationship management and performance.
Additionally, you will:
- Produce subsidiary accounts and support the production of consolidated accounts - Administer the investment portfolio, and grants and scholarship programmes - Produce all reconciliations, including group intercompany balances - Develop and maintain the financial policies, controls, systems, and processes - Oversee the administration of bank and investment accounts - Lead on the posting and reconciliation of group payroll and pensions
About You
To be considered as a Financial Accountant, you will need:
- A CCAB, ACA or ACCA qualification - Experience of reporting and consolidation for a group - Experience of staff management in a multi-site and/or hybrid working environment - Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel - The ability to present complex data simply and provide focused feedback in a clear manner - Proven communication skills with the ability to listen, understand and communicate constructively - Problem-solving skills, coupled with commercial acumen, curiosity, and a desire to find better ways to achieve goals
