What you'll be doing:
In recent years, People’s Partnership has embarked on an ambitious and exciting growth strategy which has led to a significant transformation of the business. This role will be critical in ensuring Finance is transforming alongside the business. The role holder will lead the transformation of core financial reporting and accounting processes within the Financial Control team and design and deliver a multi-year road-map for Financial Control transformation aligned with strategic business goals.
This role will modernise and enhance the management accounts MI, reporting structures and accounting policies. Improving accuracy, insight and efficiency within the Financial Control team and ensuring readiness for further growth and change will also be key requirements of the role.
In addition, the role holder will be expected to represent the plans and priorities of the Financial Controller and may deputise in appropriate meetings. They will also be critical to the running of important cross division Finance projects, having a wider view than just the Financial Control department to ensure plans and activities consider upstream and downstream impacts.
- Lead Financial Control change and transformation activity
- Redesign the monthly management accounts and internal reporting packs to improve clarity, consistency, and commercial insight.
- Owns the organisations’ accounting policies, ensuring they are current and aligned to evolving business need as well as applied correctly within the management accounts.
- Enhance financial close processes to reduce timelines and manual effort, while improving data quality and reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate with FP&A to align actuals, forecasts and reporting outputs, ensuring one version of the truth across Finance.
- Lead for the end-to-end implementation of a new P2P process and system, working closely with Procurement, Finance Operations and Change.
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Accountant with strong experience in financial reporting, management accounting and process improvement.
- Experience in a regulated financial services environment.
- Demonstrated track record of leading finance change initiatives within Financial Control or core finance operations.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and practical application of accounting policies.
- Ability to lead groups of people across different teams.
