Job Description

Equifind are working with a management consultancy group in London to recruit a Financial Controller. The firm has a strong track record of advising both private and public sector clients on strategy, transformation, and operational improvement.


With multiple UK entities and international operations, they’re looking to bring in a Financial Controller to lead and professionalise the finance function as the business continues to scale.


This is a key leadership role, reporting directly to the Finance Director, and taking full ownership of group reporting, financial controls, and team management. You’ll play a central role in shaping the finance function and ensuring the business is well set up for further growth: both organic and through acquisition.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the production of monthly group management accounts, consolidations, and board reporting
  • Own the year-end process, including audit, statutory accounts and tax compliance (UK and overseas entities)
  • Manage and mentor a small but growing finance team
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management across the group
  • Strengthen internal controls and develop scalable processes and systems
  • Business partner with senior stakeholders on commercial decision-making, pricing, and project profitability
  • Support M&A activity and integration of new entities
  • Lead on systems development and finance transformation projects


Application Criteria

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/CA preferred) with a background in audit
  • Previous experience in a group-level finance role, ideally within a professional services or consultancy environment
  • Strong consolidation and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret data and present insights to senior leadership
  • Confident people manager and mentor
  • Comfortable in a hands-on environment and able to drive continuous improvement
  • Experience with international entities or group structures a plus


Package and Benefits:

  • Base salary of £80-90,000 (DOE)
