Executive-Level Role | Financial Leadership, Control & Growth Planning

customer data to drive growth.

Our platform, Horizon, is an AI-ready Customer Data Platform that structures data,

generates intelligence and powers decision-making across marketing and customer

strategy.

Following recent investment, we are entering a critical phase of growth and scaling

across product, delivery and commercial functions.

Reporting to: CEO

Direct Reports: Financial Controller

Location: Ideally Yorkshire-based, with a hybrid working model.

• Role Purpose

  We are seeking a part-time Finance Director (2–2.5 days per week) to provide

  executive-level financial leadership as we scale.

  This role will:

  • Oversee the finance function
  • Own financial planning, reporting and modelling
  • Support the CEO and exec team in commercial decision-making
  • Act as the primary financial interface with investors

  
  

  This is a strategic finance role, not just a reporting role

  
  

  Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Leadership & Oversight

  • Own and oversee the finance function
  • Manage and support the Financial Controller
  • Ensure robust financial processes, controls and governance

  2. Financial Planning & Growth Modelling

  • Own and continuously evolve the financial growth model

  Support strategic planning across:

  • Revenue growth
  • Hiring plans
  • Investment decisions

  Ensure alignment between:

  • Commercial strategy
  • Delivery capability
  • Financial performance

  This role connects strategy to financial reality

  3. Board & Investor Reporting

  • Attend all board meetings with investors

  Present clear, concise financial updates including:

  • Performance vs plan
  • Forecasts
  • Risks and opportunities
  • Act as a credible, confident financial voice at board level

  4. Financial Reporting & Insight

  • Own monthly and quarterly financial reporting

  Ensure reporting is:

  • Accurate
  • Timely
  • Decision-focused

  Ensure reporting is forward-looking and actionable

  5. Commercial Decision Support

  Partner with CEO and exec team to:

  • Evaluate opportunities
  • Assess investment decisions
  • Understand profitability drivers

  6. Cashflow & Financial Control

  Maintain strong oversight of:

  • Cashflow
  • Working capital
  • Financial risk
  • Ensure financial discipline as the business scales

  7. Systems, Process & Scalability

  • Ensure finance systems and processes are fit for scale utilizing the best latest

  tech / AI tools available

  • Improve efficiency and automation where appropriate
  • Support transition to a more structured, scalable operating model

  
  

  What We’re Looking For:

  
  

  Experienced Finance Leader

  • Proven experience as a Finance Director or equivalent in a scaling business
  • Experience working with investors and board-level stakeholders

  
  

  Commercially Focused

  Strong understanding of:

  • SaaS / services / hybrid models, Revenue dynamics, Margin and profitability
  • Able to translate financial data into business insight

  
  

  Strategic & Hands-On

  Comfortable operating at both:

  • Strategic level (board / planning)
  • Detail level (supporting controller, reviewing numbers)

  
  

  Credible & Confident Communicator

  Able to present clearly to:

  • CEO
  • Exec team
  • Wider Company
  • Investors

  
  

  Relevant Experience

  Experience in:

  • Technology, SaaS, data or services businesses
  • Investor-backed or high-growth environments
