Financial Director
New Today
A high-growth FinTech scale-up is seeking to appoint a Finance Director to join its senior finance leadership team. The business has achieved exceptional growth since launch and continues to scale rapidly as it prepares for its next phase of development, including a potential IPO.
Reporting to the SVP of Finance, this role will operate as a senior leader within the finance function, providing oversight and integration across Internal Reporting, External Reporting and Treasury. The position combines strategic oversight with hands‑on involvement in technical, governance and treasury matters, ensuring financial information across the organisation is accurate, aligned and decision‑useful for the executive team and Board.
This is a highly visible role within a scaling FinTech environment, offering the opportunity to strengthen financial governance, elevate reporting standards and support the business through future corporate activity.
Key responsibilities
- Provide senior leadership across Internal Reporting, External Reporting and Treasury functions, ensuring clear accountability and alignment across specialist teams
- Act as a senior finance partner to the Executive Committee, supporting the SVP of Finance in delivering high-quality financial insight and decision support
- Support the preparation and execution of major corporate transactions including capital raises, acquisitions and potential IPO readiness
- Oversee the production and review of monthly management accounts, MI and Board reporting, ensuring clarity, consistency and a strong financial narrative
- Lead senior engagement with external auditors and advisors, overseeing statutory accounts, the annual report and complex technical accounting matters
- Provide strategic oversight of treasury activity, including capital management and liquidity considerations
- Strengthen financial governance frameworks and control environments across reporting and treasury
- Serve as the senior escalation point for financial, technical and stakeholder matters across reporting and treasury
- Support optimisation of finance systems and reporting infrastructure, driving automation and improvements to reporting quality and speed
- Elevate standards of financial control, documentation and reconciliation processes within a fast‑scaling environment
We are seeking a fully qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with significant post‑qualification experience in senior finance leadership or controllership roles. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience across external reporting, audit and treasury, ideally within FinTech, banking or regulated financial services environments.
Experience supporting corporate transactions such as capital raises, acquisitions or IPO preparation will be highly advantageous. You will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with commercial judgement and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively at Board level. The successful candidate will also be comfortable working across specialist finance teams, providing integration and oversight while remaining close to operational detail in a fast‑paced, scaling organisation.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join one of the UK’s most exciting FinTech scale‑ups at a pivot stage in its journey. The role offers a highly competitive salary, bonus and meaningful equity participation, with hybrid working based in Central London.
