My client is an established, PE-backed, international, market leading medium-sized manufacturer. Due to a recent change in ownership and subsequent retirement, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a proven, driven Finance Director to join the business to support the CEO and be a key player in the Senior Leadership Team.
About the Role
Reporting into the CFO, the role will work closely with the CEO, Board and PE House. You will also lead a small, established and capable team in ensuring key financials are reported, key commercial analysis is improved and the business strategy is delivered leading to growth in revenue, profitability and value.
Responsibilities
- Lead the finance function, providing strong commercial partnership to the CEO, Board and Private Equity stakeholders
- Own financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management to support value creation and exit planning
- Deliver timely, accurate management reporting, KPIs and insights to drive operational and margin performance with a data led approach (BI)
- Oversee statutory reporting, audit, tax and compliance across UK operations and international trading activities
- Support growth initiatives including capex investment, pricing strategy, supply chain efficiency and working capital optimisation
- Play a key role in M&A, integration, refinancing and transaction readiness activities as required by the PE lifecycle
- Build and develop a high‑performing finance team, embedding robust controls, systems and scalable processes
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders including banks, advisors, auditors and insurers
The Successful Candidate
- Holder of a relevant, professional, finance qualification – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Previous/current FD/CFO level experience in a PE backed, manufacturing business with a track record of impact and success and navigation through challenges
- A clear and proven communicator, leader, decision maker and colleague - a team player is key
- Able to hit the ground running
