We are supporting a large, multi-billion-pound organisation in Liverpool in the recruitment of a Financial Reporting Accountant on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role sits within the Group Finance function and will play a key part in strengthening financial reporting, controls and technical accounting capability across the business.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant looking to develop within a large, complex organisation, with strong exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and reporting enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation and review of statutory accounts in line with relevant accounting standards
\n\t
• Ownership and review of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring strong controls and integrity across financial reporting
\n\t
• Supporting year-end and interim audit processes, acting as a key contact for auditors
\n\t
• Assisting with the development and maintenance of accounting policies, frameworks and technical guidance
\n\t
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and standardisation across the reporting function
\n\t
• Supporting month-end and year-end close activities where required
\n\t
• Working closely with wider finance teams to ensure consistent reporting standards and compliance
\n

About You

\n\t
• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or close to qualification
\n\t
• Strong experience within financial reporting or technical accounting
\n\t
• Proven experience preparing statutory accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
\n\t
• Good understanding of accounting standards and policy frameworks
\n\t
• Experience identifying and implementing process improvements within finance functions
\n\t
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate complex accounting matters clearly
\n
