The UK Market Controllership team will oversee controllership matters under the UK Financial Controller, collaborating with offshore teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting.The RoleThe UK Market Controllership team will take responsibility for controllership matters, led by the UK Financial Controller. The team liaises with internal and external stakeholders and collaborates with the Controlling Operations team in Bangalore to record transactions and provide high-quality service to the local market. The Financial Reporting Manager reports to the UK Financial Controller and supports month-end close under US GAAP and local GAAP statutory/regulatory reporting. You will participate in improvement programs to enhance UK Market Controlling activities and user adoption.The TeamThe Financial Reporting Manager reports to the UK Financial Controller and may have 1 direct report (Financial Accountant). The offshore team in Bangalore provides strong support, with collaboration across local finance teams and with internal/external stakeholders.What will you be doing?Financial Reporting, Compliance & Accounting: Support the Market Controller in Month-end close (MEC) for management accounts with variance analysis; review monthly P&L, balance sheet, and reconciliations; ensure activities meet regulatory reporting requirements and CN Global standards (US GAAP); prepare statutory financial statements under Local GAAP and related regulatory filings; participate in local GAAP statutory audits (e.g., with KPMG); manage external audits (VAT, Tax) and internal audits (GIA); review tax computations and VAT returns; prepare cash flow forecast with monthly variance analysis; review/approve low/medium value manual journals.ManagementLine manager for the Financial Accountant to meet Global/local objectives; liaise with Bangalore to resolve queries and ensure timely MEC; create and produce accounts receivable/payable management reports; maintain and manage expense reimbursement processes; manage and supervise tax compliance, intercompany operations, transfer pricing policies, etc.Process ImprovementReview Balance Sheet reconciliations and approve low/medium priority reconciliations; contribute to reporting standards, policies, processes and internal controls with stakeholders; support Bangalore Controlling Ops to enhance and standardize processes and technology; identify gaps and propose continuous improvement measures.Who you areQualified accountant with post-qualification experience; audit experience preferred.Technically strong in Local GAAP; analytical finance professional; ideally with US GAAP experience.Experience in a mid-level finance role in a large, complex organization and leading controlling teams.Good working knowledge of direct/indirect tax including corporation tax, VAT, WHT.Experience transforming finance processes, automation, and change adoption in Finance and Non-Finance teams.Strong internal networker with good communications and presentation skills; industry knowledge and technical expertise; Workday experience preferred.Benefits25 days holiday and additional leave for life eventsCore hoursCompetitive pension schemeBupa Private HealthcareEnhanced maternity and family leaveSeason ticket loansCycle to work schemeEmployee Assistance programmeBring your dog to workWellness benefits including gym discountsDiscounts and Magazine SubscriptionsEmployee Resource GroupsCondé Nast Learning Hub with courses in multiple languagesWhat happens next?If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply below.
