A leading London-based hedge fund is seeking an experienced Workday Financials Functional Lead to play a pivotal role in shaping and optimising its global finance technology landscape. This is an opportunity to join a high-performing, fast-paced environment where technology, data, and finance come together to support sophisticated investment operations. You will be responsible for owning, enhancing, and driving the firms Workday Financials platform. You will partner with senior Finance, Operations, and Technology stakeholders to deliver best-in-class financial processes, improve reporting capability, and support ongoing Workday optimisation and expansion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary functional expert for Workday Financials, covering key modules such as Financial Accounting, Procurement, Projects, Expenses, and Reporting.
Lead the design, configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday enhancements and integrations.
Act as the bridge between Finance and Technology, translating business requirements into robust Workday solutions.
Own Workday roadmap planningidentifying opportunities for process automation, improved controls, and better data insight.
Collaborate with Finance leadership to support period-end close, audit requirements, and financial governance.
Manage vendor relationships, Workday AMS providers, and coordinate releases and new functionality adoption.
Provide subject-matter guidance, mentoring, and support to Workday users across the business.
The ideal candidate you will have
A background within accountancy and working knowledge of accounting processes, tax and reporting..
Strong, hands-on experience as a Workday Financials functional specialist or lead, ideally within financial services.
Proven expertise designing or optimising core Workday Financials modules.
Excellent stakeholder engagement skillscomfortable working with senior finance professionals, traders, operations teams, and technology.
Analytical mindset with the ability to improve processes, streamline workflows, and enhance reporting accuracy.
Experience in a hedge fund, asset manager, or other investment-focused environment is beneficial but not essential.
