Job description
Finishing Estimator (Lamination / Die-Cut / UV Focus)
Location: Bristol, WI (On-Site – 5 Days/Week)
Start Date: Targeting April 15 (initial floor training; formal estimator training in May)
About Converting Solutions Inc. (CSI)
CSI is a fast-growing print finishing and converting manufacturer specializing in lamination, die-cutting, UV coating, and specialty finishing. We operate as a high-mix job shop serving commercial print, packaging, and specialty accounts.
We are evolving our systems, modernizing our estimating platform, and building more structured data
into how we operate. This hire supports immediate capacity needs while helping position our
estimating function for long-term growth.
The Role
We are hiring a Finishing Estimator with strong experience in lamination, die-cutting, UV coating, and
multi-process finishing jobs.
This role is primarily behind-the-scenes — building accurate, commercially sound estimates and
collaborating internally with CSR, production, and leadership. Over time, the role may expand in scope
as our systems mature.
You will:
• Build and analyze estimates for multi-process finishing jobs
• Price lamination, die-cutting, UV coating, and specialty substrates
• Manage multiple open quotes simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
• Work heavily in Excel and our MIS platform (currently Dienamics)
• Collaborate with CSR to create feedback loops on estimate accuracy
• Ensure customer specs are complete and commercially viable
• Support vendor cost analysis and material sourcing decisions
• Participate in identifying operational improvements based on estimate trends
• Contribute to evolving our estimating structure and data reporting over time
This role will begin with hands-on floor exposure to understand processes before transitioning into
structured estimator training under senior leadership.
What Success Looks Like After 6 Months
• Quotes are accurate, timely, and commercially sound
• Workload is balanced and supports redundancy in estimating
• Estimate-to-actual conversations begin to drive smarter pricing decisions
• Internal collaboration between estimating and CSR improves
• You are confident navigating complex, multi-process jobs
Required Qualifications
• Experience in print finishing, converting, packaging, or commercial print
• Working knowledge of lamination, die-cutting, UV coating, and/or specialty finishing
• Comfortable in a job shop manufacturing environment (high mix, fast pace)
• Strong Excel fundamentals (formulas, data organization, basic pivot tables)
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
• Comfortable operating within evolving systems
• Willingness to work on-site in Bristol 5 days per week
Strong Plusses (Not Required)
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, structured data analysis)
• Experience with MIS systems (Dienamics, EFI, OTPrint, etc.)
• Exposure to database or reporting tools
• Familiarity with substrates such as Falconboard, corrugate (flute types), 12pt C1S, specialty
materials
• Understanding of lamination run times and die complexity limits
• Vendor familiarity (adhesives, laminates, rubber, magnet, corrugate suppliers)
• Experience reviewing estimate vs. actual performance
• Interest in helping build reporting and forecasting tools as systems evolve
• Comfort pushing back on incomplete or unclear customer specs
Who This Role Is Ideal For
• Someone who understands finishing manufacturing and wants more ownership
• A strong problem-solver comfortable in ambiguity
• A commercially practical thinker (not someone who freezes chasing perfection)
• Someone who wants to help build smarter systems — not just plug numbers into a template
Why This Role Matters
This hire strengthens our estimating redundancy and supports long-term growth. Estimating is critical
to our operation, and this position allows us to protect capacity while evolving how we analyze pricing,
workflow, and production efficiency.
If you understand finishing and want to help modernize how a manufacturing business thinks about
estimating — we want to talk.
