Fire Alarm Design Engineer – Overview

An established and growing fire and security specialist is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Design Engineer to support an expanding project pipeline across London and the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong design engineer looking for a remote-based role with long-term progression in the fire safety sector.

Key Responsibilities

* Design fire alarm and detection systems in line with BS 5839

* Produce detailed AutoCAD drawings, schematics, and system layouts

* Develop compliant and cost-effective fire system designs

* Work closely with project managers, consultants, and site teams

* Conduct site surveys and provide technical support for pre-sales

* Prepare technical submissions, O&M manuals, and as-fitted drawings

* Ensure compliance with regulatory, client, and insurance requirements

* Support commissioning and project handover where required

Skills & Experience Required

* Strong knowledge of fire alarm design and BS 5839 standards (essential)

* Experience with systems such as Gent, Advanced, Kentec, Honeywell

* Proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software

* Background in fire safety, life safety systems, or electrical design

* FIA, City & Guilds, BTEC or similar qualifications (desirable)

* Ability to work independently in a remote environment

* Full UK driving licence (essential)
