Fire Alarm Installation Engineer Location: M25 Corridor & Home Counties Salary: Up to £45,000 basic + overtime + call-out (OTE £53,000 – £58,000)
I’m currently working with a well-established and growing fire and life safety specialist who are looking to strengthen their engineering team with the addition of an experienced Fire Alarm Installation Engineer.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to join a business that has built a strong reputation within the industry for delivering high-quality fire and life safety solutions. The company continues to grow steadily and is investing heavily in its people, providing structured training and long-term development opportunities through a dedicated in-house training academy.
In this role, you will be responsible for the installation of fire detection and alarm systems across commercial buildings throughout the M25 and surrounding Home Counties. The work will involve installing, commissioning support, and ensuring systems are installed in line with relevant British Standards, particularly BS 5839, maintaining high levels of quality, compliance, and professionalism on site.
My client is looking for engineers with a minimum of two years’ experience within fire alarm installation, along with a strong understanding of fire alarm systems and relevant standards. Ideally, candidates will hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent industry qualifications, such as FIA or Zeus training, although equivalent experience within the sector will also be considered.
The business places a strong emphasis on technical standards, teamwork, and long-term career development, with many employees staying with the company for several years. Engineers benefit from access to ongoing training, modern equipment, and the opportunity to work alongside a highly experienced team within the fire safety sector.
The role offers a basic salary of up to £45,000, with strong earning potential through overtime and call-out work. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 7pm and on Saturdays, and double time on Sundays, alongside a call-out standby fee and additional call-out payments. On average, engineers achieve a total package between £53,000 and £58,000 per year.
The overall package also includes a company vehicle, pension scheme, healthcare support, and all tools and equipment required for the role.
The interview process will begin with an initial Teams call, followed by a face-to-face meeting with senior leadership. Successful candidates will then complete a structured onboarding process including health and safety training and a period of working alongside an experienced engineer before going out independently.
If you’re a Fire Alarm Installation Engineer looking to join a stable and growing company that genuinely invests in its engineers and offers clear development opportunities, I’d be keen to speak with you
