Salary: £44,242 + Excellent Benefits
Location: High Wycombe / Chesham (with travel across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire)
Contract: Permanent
Working style: Mobile role with regular travel
Travel: Own car + business insurance required (mileage paid at 45p per mile, minus commuting)

About the role

This is a mobile role covering Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, working closely with colleagues across Property Services, Development, Housing and external partners. Youll play a vital role in ensuring our buildings are safe, compliant and well-managed, and that our residents feel protected and informed. Due to the nature of this role and the travel involved, a full UK driving licence + own vehicle + business insurance is essential.

Youll also support with pre-occupation fire inspections, review and translate Regulation 38 information, and contribute to continuous improvement across our fire safety processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Carry out Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) in line with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and Fire Safety Act 2021

  • Produce high-quality FRA reports with clear, actionable recommendations

  • Complete Person-Centred Fire Risk Assessments

  • Ensure FRAs are delivered on time and within the approved programme

  • Review and interpret Regulation 38 documentation for new developments

  • Support pre-occupation fire risk inspections for new build schemes

  • Work with managing agents and landlords to ensure compliant FRAs where SettleParadigm is not the Responsible Person

  • Collaborate with Housing and Fire Authorities on hoarding and complex cases

  • Quality-assure fire safety work carried out by contractors, consultants and internal teams

  • Support Fire & Rescue Service audits and prepare required documentation

  • Investigate fires and unwanted fire signals in SettleParadigm properties

  • Provide fire safety training to staff and residents where required

  • Maintain CPD and stay up to date with legislation, guidance and best practice

What Were Looking For

Must haves:

  • Level 3 or Level 4 Fire Risk Assessor qualification (Level 4 preferred)

  • Accreditation with IFSM, IFE or equivalent recognised body

  • Experience carrying out Fire Risk Assessments in a housing environment

  • Ability to interpret and translate Regulation 38 information

  • Comfortable conducting pre-occupation fire risk inspections

  • Strong understanding of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005

  • Knowledge of fire safety requirements under the Housing Act 2004

  • Excellent report-writing skills with the ability to provide clear, concise recommendations

  • Strong auditing and inspection skills

  • Experience supporting fire safety objectives within housing or estates environments

  • Ability to prioritise workload, work independently and meet deadlines

  • Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to excellent customer care

  • IT literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel) and willingness to learn new systems

  • Full clean UK driving licence + own vehicle + business insurance

Nice to haves:

  • Experience working with Fire & Rescue Services

  • Experience within Social Housing or Local Authority completing Fire Risk Assessment.

  • Experience investigating fires or unwanted fire signals

  • Experience delivering fire safety training

  • Knowledge of hoarding risk management

  • Ability to communicate complex fire safety information clearly and accessibly

Working Hours & Additional Pay

  • 37 hours per week

  • Mobile role with regular travel across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.
